CBA v3.10.0 adds a multitude of optimizations that will speed up the loading times of missions, especially when using script heavy mods like ACE3.
The Eden Editor and Zeus Inventory menus will no longer freeze the game when opened for the first time when big content mods like CUP or RHS are used.
There is a new button to hide the base game missions from the mission browser.
A new function
Non MX-SW variants of the MX can no longer use 100 round magazines. This was mistakenly changed from the base game when introducing the magazine wells (JAM).

CBA v3.9 adds the first pass of Joint Ammo and Magazines, including

Getting Started[edit | edit source]
Starting out fresh in any game or mod can be a daunting thing. Hopefully this section, and the video in it can help with getting you comfortable in Epoch, and on your way to experiencing all it has to offer. Remember this wiki is for Arma 3 Epoch only. And the mods that are officially supported in Epoch. Current external server modifications supported by Epoch is Ryan's Zombies and Demons [1].
After loading into a server, you will be given the choice between playing a male or female character if you are new to that server. Once you've picked your gender, move to one of the drain covers around the room and selecting your action key and you will spawn you into the map. You will be spawned into a trader zone for that map. You will spawn into a traders center in a specific area of the map, each drain cover will spawn you into a different area so its worth trying them all to find out where they all lead to. Depending on the map you choose, you may have one or multiple drain covers. You will spawn in a Protected Traders Zone in Epoch unless you are playing on a modded server.

Epoch Energy System[edit | edit source]
Before a player can start building, they must first gain some energy. This can be done in three ways:
- Vehicles - While in any vehicle with the engine running, the player will gain approximately 5 energy every 10 seconds;
- Solar/Wind Power - If the player is within 75 meters of a solar farm tower or wind turbine they will gain approximately 5 energy every 10 seconds;
- Energy Packs - By double clicking an energy pack in your inventory, there is an option to 'use'. This will give the player energy instantly, but will use up the energy pack (small energy pack = 100 energy. large energy pack = 1000 energy).
Also note;
- Using night vision goggles, or the night vision function on range finders, will also require energy.
- Energy gains do not stack while in a vehicle within range of towers/turbines or multiple towers/turbines

Note:- Base building objects get deleted after 7 days. Moving the object or Painting walls extends this for 7 more days. For more info see Maintaining Bases.
Upgrading Pieces[edit | edit source]
Some building pieces can be upgraded with the use of additional materials:
- Fireplaces as of v0.3 need to be placed and upgraded. See the video on the right for more details.
Base Maintenance[edit | edit source]
If they are not maintained, base pieces will be removed after 7 days of being placed.

- Use Krypto at your frequency jammer at a cost of 1 Krypto per base piece within it's radius.
- Paint upgraded wall pieces.
- Move existing base pieces.
The best way is clearly through the frequency jammer, as painting will only work on upgraded walls, and moving every piece of a base and getting them back to how they were would be very time consuming on all except the most basic bases.

Epoch has many custom searchable objects to find items in, which are listed below. As the player moves around the map, they have a chance for these to spawn in the buildings around them.

This Redist is required on Windows installs due to the custom DLL's Epoch uses for various functions including connection to the RedisDB.
Server Requirements
To host Arma 3 Epoch you require a dedicated server - whether you choose to rent an Arma 3 server from a Game Server Provider [GSP], rent/host your own Dedicated Server [DS] or purchase your own Dedicated Server and have it co-located is entirely up to you.
An Arma server rented from a GSP will already have the minimum requirements, performance will be dependant on the GSP, some have better equipped servers than others.
Recommended Dedicated Server Specifications:

HDD: | 512GB+ - Most Dedi's have 1TB+ HDD's these days, some have optional RAID. Remember you still need space for your OS and any mods you plan on using. |
SSD: | 120GB+ - SSD's are becoming more commonly available from DS companies and many people already have them in thier own dedicated servers. |
Network Link: | 100MBit+ - Most Dedi's come with a port speed of 1Gbit which is limited by your contract with them - 100/200/300Mbit throughput is common, 1Gbit is usually an extra cost over and above the basic rental of your dedicated server. |
Bandwidth: | 1TB+ / Month - Bandwidth requirement is dependant on everything you do with your dedicated server, 1TB/month is the absolute bare minimum I would recommend for running your own dedicated game server |
OS: | Linux or Windows Server 2008/2012 |
HDD or SSD? - Either or both, it depends on what is available to you - if you run the server + redis DB from an SSD your server load times may be faster, Arma is a CPU hungry game and overall it is CPU cycles (Ghz) that effects the server most.
Windows or Linux? - That is entirely up to you,.
Linux is a free open-source operating system, Arma3 support for linux is ever-increasing, Epoch already supports Linux.
Windows Server is available in two flavours that are supported by Arma3: 2008 or 2012. There have been mixed performance reports about which version is better regarding Arma hosting. With Windows you will have to pay a licencing fee to your host company, this cost varies but is usually around £/$/€ 20-40 per month ontop of your server rental cost. Some hosts will let you opt to install your own licenced edition of Windows Server on your dedicated server - This is not a cheap option as Windows Server 2008/2012 is fairly expensive to licence.
